Notes from Last Night’s Match-up of the Bulls vs. Developmental League Knicks

Was this guy really supposed to be our savior at point guard???

  • Do you remember how everyone was worried that when Baron came back he would insist on taking over the starting role from Jeremy Lin. Well Lin is out for the year and Baron still insists on playing back up point guard even if we don’t have a goddam starting point guard.
  • How do the Knicks choose which quarter not to play each night? Did they pick the 2nd quarter out of a hat before the game?
  • Why can’t this team be good at both offense and defense. Last year they rocked on offense but couldn’t play a lick of defense. Now since Woodson took over they have the best defense in the league and a pathetic offense. Do the Knicks need to bring D’Antoni back as Woodson’s offensive coordinator? Continue reading

Knicks Roster Mid-Season Grades

Grades:

Carmelo Anthony – B:  He played too much iso-ball in the beginning of the season, but since coming back from his injury has been making a huge effort to move the ball around.  His shot is way off right now but we expect him to look more like himself after the all-star break.

Mike Bibby – F:  I know he’s getting old and he’s lost a step, but how did he forget how to shoot and pass as well?  We had to play shooting guards at the point because he was too bad to play more than five minutes.

Tyson Chandler – A: Exactly what we wanted when we signed him. Excellent defender, low post presence and when a good PG is playing can be a factor on offense too.  He’s currently leading the league leader in field goal percentage.  Needs to calm down on techs or he’s going to be suspended for a number of games in the second half. Episode 100 – Knicks at Miami

We do a live commentary of the Knicks at Miami game.  This is fun even if you didn’t listen live/DVR the game.  We spend most of the time talking about trade scenarios, taking calls, reading emails, and going off on complete tangents like wresting, all time greats, rivalries, and other things going on around the league.

This episode was really long so I had to break it into two parts.

Episode 92: Game 1

We talk about all of the Christmas games, especially the Knicks vs. Celtics and Garnett vs. Walker’s neck.  We do some of our new segments such as reasons to hate the Heat, reasons to be sad we’re a Knicks fan, he gets paid how much?, nba crossfire, and I can’t believe we got him in the offseason.  We debate whether Amar’e should be more of a 3-point shooter.  Download Episode 92

Kelenna Azubuike gets bought out

The Knicks have waived Azubuike. This has likely been done to free up a roster spot for Jared Jeffries. I guess that makes sense since Roger Mason’s spot on the bench has been invaluable this season. Does Roger Mason have naked pictures of Walsh procreating with a donkey? How do you shoot 6% on the year and avoid getting cut? What was the thinking, let’s cut the guy who has been injured all year that has actual potential and is actually close to coming back and keep the guy who would need the entire starting five to die in a plane accident before he would get Bill Walker type minutes. And, Turiaf is now all that remains from the David Lee trade.
