Knicks vs Bucks – 3-15-14 – Game Recap

Written by William Lee

New York avenged a terrible February 03, 2014 loss to the league’s worst team on a Saturday matinée game, defeating Milwaukee 115-94.

The previous three contests against Milwaukee were highly competitive, going to a double overtime, and even giving the Bucks one of their league worst thirteen wins. Saturday would be a completely different story, as New York stretched their season high winning streak to six straight. Tyson Chandler and Amare Stoudemire made their return to the starting lineup, and even though they looked rusty at times, their presence was immense for the ball club. New York went on a 19-6 run early in the second quarter, which ended any competitiveness from the game the rest of the afternoon.

John Henson would dunk the ball to start the second quarter, the Knicks would answer with the massive run, sparked by Tim Hardaway Jr, who scored 11 of the 19 points, during the crushing run to the Bucks. Hardaway Jr. got to the rim at will, highlighted by an alley-oop dunk, where he was the recipient of a great team basketball play. On an inbound pass to Pablo Prigioni, he threw a three quarter court pass to Iman Shumpert, who threw the lob to Hardaway Jr. for the jam. Hardaway Jr. would then cap the run with a three, giving the Knicks a 49-31 lead with 5:36 left in the second quarter. Things were going so well for New York that Iman Shumpert somehow banked in a three from the right corner three. (I don’t think he called bank on that shot)

New York held a 60-42 lead at the half, and the second half both teams basically just went through the motions, waiting for the game to end. It was non-competitive in the second half, and garbage time came early. Tim Hardaway Jr. poured in 20 points from the bench, lending a helping hand to Carmelo Anthony who finished the game with 23 points.

Efffff recapping, I am going to just use this opportunity to vent…
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

We just lost to the 8-39 Milwaukee Bucks WORST RECORD IN THE LEAGUE!
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

You need your star Carmelo Anthony to score 19 points in the fourth quarter just to get back into the game…against a team that is trying to TANK for the number one overall pick…
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

Raymond Felton…THAT IS ALL…do I really need to say more…
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

Every play Mike Woodson “draws up” is an iso play for Carmelo Anthony…everyone and their grandmother knew that Anthony was going to take the last shot…HOW ABOUT YOU USE MELO AS A DECOY SOMETIMES…JEZZZZZZ Do you see how the Mavericks use Dirk Nowitzki as a decoy, even on crucial last possession shots…YOU CAN TRUST OTHER PLAYERS TO MAKE A PLAY…IT’S NOT 1 ON 5 out there…it’s 5 on 5…
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

First of all you let Brandon Knight score 36 points in the last meeting…WAKE UP! Guard this guy…how do you let him get 25 points and 7 assist this game…Knight is not THAT GOOD…and this guy got the last five points to win the game…GET FELTON OFF THE EFFING FLOOR! THIS GUY CAN’T GUARD A CHAIR!
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

The Bucks are the sixth worst three point shooting team in the league at 34.4%, but yet you let them go 11/18 for 61.1%…That’s cool……Also when a close to 40% three point shooter knocks down a couple of threes…you might want to guard the man…NOPE NOT THE KNICKS…Just let Khris Middleton roam free above the arc…that’s completely fine…
THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW THE KNICKS SUCK!

You know what Knicks Podcast Nation, you let us know why the Knicks SUCK…I am done venting for one night. Good Night.

Random Slo-Mo Clips From the Bucks Game

One of our listeners was lucky enough to go to a game court-side and took a few slo-mo videos.  I figured it would be cool to share them with everyone:

It’s so nice having a defensive center again:

The Bucks missing the final two shots of regulation

and last but not least one of the stupidest moments in Knicks history in slow motion!  You can see Beno and even JR showing how dumb they thought Bargnani’s shot was

Knicks vs Bucks – 12-18-13 – Game Recap

The Milwaukee Bucks were without their two top scorers Wednesday night, O.J. Mayo did not play because he went home to attend his grandmother’s funeral, and Caron Butler was suffering from a swollen knee. Tyson Chandler made his return to the Knicks from his fractured right fibula injury, which kept him sidelined for six weeks. Chandler’s return was much needed for the Knicks, he brought the defensive energy the Knicks sorely missed, and collected crucial rebounds down the stretch of the game. The Knicks needed everything he gave, 9 points 9 rebounds (5 of it being on the offensive glass) and 3 blocks in 37 minutes of play. With the extended minutes of play from the double overtime, Tyson Chandler suffered from cramps down the stretch. Playing so many minutes, after missing so much time, he had trainers working on the cramps every timeout.

New York won the game 107-101 in double overtime despite themselves, making mental errors down the stretch. Milwaukee jumped out quickly in the first overtime leading by four points, with Khris Middleton knocking down a quick three, scoring 20 points and grabbing 9 rebounds for the game. Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo played great defense on Carmelo Anthony all game, who had 29 points, but it took 29 shots to get it. After Tyson Chandler split a pair of free throws, there was defensive confusion on the Knicks’ coverage, as they let Brandon Knight knocked down an uncontested jump shot, to give the Bucks a four point lead with 3:43 remaining in the first overtime. If anyone should not have been open, it was Brandon Knight, who torched the Knicks all night long, scoring a career high 36 points, including six three pointers. Continue reading

February is off to a good start

  • The Knicks started off the 1st half in usual annoying fashion, falling behind by double digits before winning by a decent margin at the end.  This lack of enthusiasm for the first two quarters is going to really bite them in the ass against better teams.
  • Amare has developed this mini-hook that has been really really effective.  If he is going to continue to score 15-17 and grab 6-8 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench while playing semi-tolerable defense while not complaining about his role I’m all in.
  • Tyson Chandler: 20 rebounds.  Awesome.
  • Felton hurt his previously broken finger.  After clearly showing some pain and icing it for a while he came back in and hit a few shots.  Lets hope it was just a bump and not a refracturing or the 2nd half of the season is going to be really long.
  • Kudos to the Knicks for finally not getting burned by not one but two fast point guards.  Also, after fast starts by Dunleavy and Ilyasova the Knicks contained them in the 2nd half as well.  In other words, no Knick Effect for tonight!
  • I’m really glad the Knicks won tonight, but they are playing tomorrow and I would have rathered Melo not play 44 minutes tonight.
  • In the 3rd quarter Shumpert got pulled after one minute for missing a defensive assignment.  I like that Woodson holds players accountable but it would be even better if he did that for every player.  Like when Melo all but sits down on the floor with his arms crossed like a 3 year old when he doesn’t get a call.
