The Best Moment from Last Night: Shawne Williams big dunk over Dwight Howard

Jameer Nelson Buries the Knicks, D.Howard Finishes Off Billups

The Knicks played well tonight and it looked like smooth sailing for a while. Midway through the 3rd quarter the Knicks were up by 10 and it looked like another great victory was coming. Of course, there are 4 quarters and the Magic stepped it up late. There is a lot to like about tonight but moral victories don’t count in the standings.

  • Jameer seemed unstoppable in the second half. Someone might want to guard him when he goes for a layup.
  • Howard is big and Knicks are not. They had no answer for him. Though, Howard had quite a dirty answer for Billups, knocking him out of the game by sticking his knee out on a screen.
  • 97 free throws tonight. That is a lot. Billups was a crazy 18-20 from the line.
  • Billups and Amare had 30 while Carmelo had 25 which is great but only 12 rebounds between the 3 of them and Billups had half of those.
  • Landry Fields seems always to dominate the +/- battle with a +9 tonight while Shawne Williams had a -17. Shawne actually looked good tonight but the bench was weak.  This team is not going to win consistently until they can get more help off the bench consistently.
  • Billups has got this team looking smooth on offense. He should be nicknamed Mr. Chemistry. I don’t know why I was resistant to swapping Felton for Billups.

Sure Glad the Knicks made sure Brewer was included in the trade

The Knicks Could Use a Good Geek

The Knicks waive Corey Brewer

“Free agent Corey Brewer is expected to talk to the Mavs, Spurs and Celtics Tuesday, a source tells Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski.”

Good call Knicks. I can see the future quote now: “Donnie Walsh kicks himself for not realizing Corey Brewer could be a good role player. Walsh promises to never to use the pick the guy’s name out of a hat method to cut players in the future.”

Kelenna Azubuike gets bought out

The Knicks have waived Azubuike. This has likely been done to free up a roster spot for Jared Jeffries. I guess that makes sense since Roger Mason’s spot on the bench has been invaluable this season. Does Roger Mason have naked pictures of Walsh procreating with a donkey? How do you shoot 6% on the year and avoid getting cut? What was the thinking, let’s cut the guy who has been injured all year that has actual potential and is actually close to coming back and keep the guy who would need the entire starting five to die in a plane accident before he would get Bill Walker type minutes. And, Turiaf is now all that remains from the David Lee trade.

Does this depress anyone else?

Made me a little sad to see this.  Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov during the Denver game on Tuesday.
