The Knicks Prove Their Lack of Desire for the #1 Seed

  • The lack of effort in this game by everyone not named Amare was disgusting.
  • JR Smith final line, 0-8, 0 points, 4 turnovers, +/- of minus 16.  Thanks for putting to rest the debate of whether you should have made the all-star team.
  • Ed Malloy was the ref tonight, but he had no effect on the Knicks, this was all on them.
  • Jrue Holiday had a career high.  Knickeffect.
  • Amare Stoudemire had 20 points on 8-13 shooting and some nice defensive plays.  Too bad it was wasted on this shit show of a game.
  • Philly starters outscored Knicks starters 89-40.
  • This had better be a continuity issue that will resolve itself soon or else the Knicks have big problems as this is the healthiest they have been all year.
  • What happened to the defense from the 1st month of the season?  Wasn’t Shumpert coming back supposed to make the Knicks even more potent on defense?
  • Ronnie Brewer looked great the 2.5 seconds he played tonight.

Knicks vs 76ers – 1-26-13 – Game Thread

Felton is back!  This is as close to a full roster as the Knicks have been all season and might be for the rest of the season.  Should be interesting to see how they look.  Comment below as the game goes on.

New York Knicks Season Preview: Groundhog Day Edition

Ah, another season for the New York Knicks. My time as a Knicks fan has been long and at times, arduous, and this season will probably be much of the same. Due toDespite its best efforts, management has turned this team into a slightly more competent version of what the ‘Bockers trotted out for years under *gasp* Isaiah Thomas. Under ‘Zeke, New York had a team that was full of weird and bad contracts for overpriced subs (Shandon Anderson, Othella Harrington, and Nazr Mohammed) and a disappointing, enigmatic “superstar” (Stephon Marbury) that wasn’t as terrible as some might remember (they never finished with a bottom-five record in the league). Now, the Knicks’ roster is full of overpaid subs (Marcus Camby, Jason Kidd, and yes, Steve Novak) and a disappointing, enigmatic “superstar” (Amare Stoudemire). You ever seen the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray? I feel like my Knicks fandom is a living parallel. Now, granted, this team has two other top-25 players in Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler, but it feels like we’ve been here before. I’m already waiting out the STAT contract like I’ve waited out Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph before him, and I feel like this team is just as mismanaged as its been in the past. Despite all this, without further ado, here’s my preview for 2012-2013 New York Knicks season.

Once again it’s time for the New York Knicks to dive into the “Not Fixed” NBA Draft, but in order to go forward into the draft. Let’s take a look back and see what the Knicks have selected from past NBA drafts.

2011-Iman Shumpert-Georgia Tech 1st rd pick 17
Strengths: good penetrator, great defender
Weaknesses: shot selection, consistent jump shot

Iman is the man as far as I am concerned, he brings an edge to the Knicks team of grit and hustle, he throws his body on the line constantly, now if he can only stop injuring himself, he will have an even more productive year.

2010-Landry Fields-Stanford 2nd rd pick 39
Strengths: ok defender, good off the bench.
Weaknesses: lapses on defense.

Think he lost a lot of confidence when Carmelo came to the Knicks, but he amazingly seems to play better with Jeremy Lin. Continue reading

Knicks vs Heat 5/6/12 – Game 4 gamethread

Will this be the last game of the season?  We went a game without losing a player to injury, will we bring that streak to 2?  I’ll start this thread out on a positive note; we weren’t the first team to get eliminated from the playoffs.  Thank you Dallas!
