2013/14 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 6

This would be a lot easier if someone could string together more than 1 game of decent play.  Three games, three losses and lots of blame to go around.  Read along as I try to make sense of this mess of a roster.

Rank Player Comments Last weeks Rank
1 Bargnani, Andrea Yes Bargnani is really bad in transition D.  However he has been playing good man to man D, even getting 10 blocks over a 2 game stretch, been scoring pretty efficiently and rebounding at a decent rate.  That’s all it takes to get a #1 spot on this roster apparently. 3
2 Anthony, Carmelo Still rebounding really well.  Still scoring very inefficiently, but at least he made up for it with 4 assists over 3 games and topped it off with running down the clock while down by 2 before missing a turnaround at the buzzer, shocking no one. 1
3 Martin, Kenyon Assists! Rebounds! Defense!  Why doesn’t this rub off on anyone else? 2
4 Prigioni, Pablo Lets not ever try the two point guard lineup.  It worked too well last season and everyting is going great so far this season.  It’s not that Pablo played great this week, but he played better than all the other point guards on this team. 6
5 Hardaway Jr., Tim THJ had 5 three pointers last game and had hit two in a row when he got pulled in the 4th for JR because rooks don’t know what to do at the end of games, leave it to the vets! (Obvious note: JR did not hit 3’s at the end of the game) 12
6 Shumpert, Iman I know it’s hard to believe but Shumpert got benched in the 4th quarter last game because he had the nerve to yell at Melo for playing bad defense.  This is not a joke.  It sucks that I had to clarify that that was not a joke. 7
7 Chandler, Tyson Come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon, come back soon 9
8 Felton, Raymond Felton had 22 assists this week so why do I feel like the ball still doesn’t move around very well? 13
9 Aldrich, Cole Cole doesn’t get to play because there is no way he can possibly replicate the awesomeness that is Amar’e. 10
10 Murry, Toure’ Murry doesn’t get to play because there is no way he can possibly replicate the awesomeness that is JR. 11
11 World Peace, Metta Metta hasn’t looked good when he’s been in, but he’s been playing less than 10 minutes.  At this point I’d rather see him get 20 and have the minutes of non-productive players cut.  But that makes too much sense. 8
12 Udrih, Beno If this Knicks played the 2 pg lineup, which makes sense, then Beno would play more than 3mpg.  Which would also make sense.  The Knicks don’t make sense. 4
13 Smith, Chris Being in the D-league is more helpful than the complete trash the last two brought to the court this week. 14
14 Stoudemire, Amar’e Amare had a +/- of -29 in his 20 minutes on the court against the Clippers.  GTFO.  Seriously, just go home.  5
15 Smith, J.R. How bad has JR been?  He shot 36% last game and raised his fg%.  At least he made a spoof video where his friends call him at 9pm and he’s already in bed because he has a game the next day.  In reality he was posting #stillup on twitter at 5:24am.  What a dick. 15
