| 1-2 this week with the obligatory hey, maybe this team isn’t so bad and might be turning things around game against Denver before turning back into a bad Knicks team again. Will this be the last power rankings with this roster? The next one will be written the day before the trade deadline so it’s possible that there will be some new faces on this list by next week. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Jeremy Tyler | He hasn’t played a ton of minutes, but he did sport a +30 this week and had a double double against Denver. Jeremy was also the only Knick to play well in all 3 games this week. | 6 |
| 2 | Anthony, Carmelo | The list of Knicks who look like they are still actually trying is down to about 3 and one of them is Melo. He couldn’t hit shots against Portland or OKC and his free throw attempts are way down, but it must be hard to keep any sort of consistency when literally every person you played with last year is playing much worse this year. | 1 |
| 3 | Chandler, Tyson | Tyson looks like he’s one more blowout loss away from open revolt. He now appears to scowl at his teammates when they switch for no reason instead of helping them, but I’d still rather have him on the court than half of these jokers. | 3 |
| 4 | Prigioni, Pablo | I almost thought Woodson came to his senses when Pablo played 8 more minutes than Felton against Portland and clearly outplayed him. The very next game the teams best point guard took a back seat to arguably the league worst starting point guard because Woodson. | 4 |
| 5 | Stoudemire, Amar’e | Amare gets this high because he’s been super efficient on offense. The Knicks still lose when he plays, they are 12-27 when he does and 8-4 when he doesn’t. It doesn’t matter though because if he’s healthy enough to play he’s going to so at least he’s scoring when he is out there. Continue reading | |

2013/14 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 14
| The Knicks went 2-1 this week. 2-0 after injuried to Amare, Bargnani, K-Mart, and Metta forced Woodson to go with the 2 point guard lineup that pretty much everyone on the planet except Woodson realizes is the way to go with this team. This week is the exact opposite of last week, it’s tough to rank because no one had a particularly bad week where last week was tough because no one had a good week. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Lets see, all Carmelo did this week was have the highest scoring game of all time at MSG with 62 points on 66% shooting, 13 rebounds and zero turnovers while facing double and triple teams. Anyone who complained about his zero assists should be banned from watching basketball. He also surrounded that game with a 28 point 7 assits night and a 35 point 5 assist night. Even if the rest of the season is miserable , we got to experience one of the best regular season games I can ever remember watching. | 2 |
| 2 | Chandler, Tyson | Tyson is starting to look a lot more like the defensive beast we remember. Now that Woodson realizes (for now at least) that Tyler and Aldrich can handle center duty for 10 minutes each, Tyson can go all out for 30 minutes a night instead of playing an exhausting 40+ minutes. Everyone wins. | 1 |
| 3 | Prigioni, Pablo | Priggy is going this high not because of his numbers but because the Knicks hardly ever lose when he starts and he also makes Felton look like not the worst starting PG in the league. | 10 |
| 4 | Felton, Raymond | Felton looks like a good PG when there is another PG out there at the same time doing half the PG duties. Maybe it’s just because of Pablo (it is) but Felton did have a very good week even if the problem of opposing guards running amok still hasn’t been solved. | 13 |
| 5 | Hardaway Jr., Tim | Look who remembered how to shoot again! THJ looked very good (on offense) this week, especially during the Lakers game. | 9 Continue reading |

Knicks Vs. Bobcats – 1-25-14 – Game Recap

January 24, 2014 Carmelo Anthony set a career high and franchise record with 62 points in Madison Square Garden.
In a post-game interview with MSG’s Tina Cervasio, it was revealed that Anthony and the Knicks as a whole were inspired in the locker room before the game by a motivational video about greatness by a Mohammad Ali speech. Anthony said “My energy level went up, my focus level went times ten” after watching the video. It showed early, as Anthony drove to the lane throwing down a thunderous one handed dunk to score his 18th point of the game in the first quarter alone. This tied for most points scored in a quarter by any player so far this season. He would set a record this season for most points scored in a quarter on a step back jump shot to give him 20 points to end the first quarter, and also gave New York a 30-21 advantage at the end of the period.
Carmelo Anthony continued his rampage on the Charlotte Bobcats in the second quarter, scoring 17 points for a total of 37 points in the first half. The 37 first half points would mark the most point scored by a player in the NBA this season in any half played. Even with Anthony almost matching the total point output Charlotte was putting up, the Bobcats for most of the first half was always within striking distance, always within single digits deficit for the most part. It wasn’t until Continue reading

Knicks @ Nuggets – 11-29-13 – Game Recap

Hard to believe this trade was over two years ago, in a cold February winter night in 2011. Since then it has been an up and down roller coaster ride for the Knicks and their fans. The blockbuster trade brought immediate dividends with the Knicks making the playoffs for the first time since the 2003-2004 season, but was immediately swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round. Then the worldwide phenomenon we all now come to be known as Linsanity occurred the following season. The Knicks had another first round exit, but not before picking up their first playoff victory, in over a decade. With the incredible hype behind Linsanity, James Dolan guaranteed that the Knicks would to match any offer up to one billion dollars during the offseason. All it really took was a poison pill contract worth $25 million over three years, with $14.8 million of it in the third year. Even with the departure of Jeremy Lin, the Knicks then had a magical 2012-2013 season, where the Knicks set a new NBA record with 891 three point shots made in a season. The Knicks broke past the First Round, but not before JR Smith elbowed Jason Terry, prolonging the series with the Boston Celtics. The Knicks then fall to the Indiana Pacers in the Second Round, in a hard fought series.
Up and down, up and down we are along for the Carmelo Anthony era ride of the Knicks. Unfortunately last year may have been the apex of the roller coaster ride up, as this year has been a complete disaster. The Knicks has lost seven straight entering tonight’s match up with Carmelo Anthony’s old team, the Denver Nuggets. Things look bleak now, but it could take a nose dive descent for the Knicks as the Nuggets hold the upcoming Knicks first round pick this year from the Carmelo Anthony trade. The Nuggets helped their own cause tonight, as they sent the Knicks to their eighth straight defeat, winning 97-95. Continue reading
2013/14 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 4
| This weeks ranking were very hard to put together because I didn’t want an 11 way tie for last place. Some players are too high, but sitting on the bench doing nothing at least doesn’t kill the team as much as the play of other players has. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Have to bump Melo up to #1 after his 45 point game. He’s still been very inconsistent shooting, but with the entire rest of the team other than Bargnani playing like crap Melo has to be in the top spot this week. | 2 |
| 2 | Bargnani, Andrea | I can’t believe Bargs is up this high after we tore him apart for the first 4 games. He’s been great on offense for 5 straight games and has even rebounded well in 3 of them. This is as good as it gets with Bargs and I’m more than happy with this level of play. | 3 |
| 3 | Shumpert, Iman | It looks like the trade rumors have been getting to him a little bit, that and being the latest Knicks to get a secret knee surgery over the summer. Seriously are there any Knicks who DIDN’T get a secret knee surgery this summer, and do they all do to the same doctor and bump into each other in the waiting room? Anyway, he’s been consistently decent and one of a very few Knicks that don’t make me yell and throw things constantly. | 8 |
| 4 | Prigioni, Pablo | Why Pablo doesn’t get more playing time is beyond me, he might be the Knicks best point guard at this point. | 4 |
| 5 | Hardaway Jr., Tim | THJ hasn’t done anything great when he’s been on the court but he hasn’t done anything terrible either. Sadly, that’s enough to earn a top 5 spot on this team. Continue reading | |
