| The Knicks went 2-2 this week, beating 2 absolutely terrible teams, and losing to 2 decent teams. Although the Bucks aren’t nearly as good as the Knicks made them look. Fisher seems to finally be getting the rotation down to 10 guys which makes my life easier. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis was the best player on the Knicks for 3 of the 4 games this week. If only we had a max level super star to help him out. | 1 |
| 2 | Afflalo, Arron | His 3 point shot hasn’t been there, but he’s shooting well from everywhere else on the court, rebounding, and playing defense. I’ll take it. | 2 |
| 3 | Anthony, Carmelo | Melo did have a season high in assists (8) against the Mavs, but he’s been shooting 33% for too often to even consider moving him higher on this list. | 3 |
| 4 | Calderon, Jose | Look who’s back from the dead! I almost forgot what it’s like having a PG do point guardy things. | 5 |
| 5 | Seraphin, Kevin | Seraphin asked Fisher how he could get more playing time and Fisher said play better defense. Since then Seraphin has been the most consistant player on the Knicks bench. Continue reading | |

2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 6
| Three games and three losses. The Rockets game was tough, that should have been a win. The most important thing now is to not lose Wednesdays game against the 0-18 76ers. Everyone is going to be ranked 14th next week if that happens. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis led the team in scoring against Miami with 11 points….gross. On a more positive note, other than getting dunked on, Kristaps looked as good or better than Howard for most of the game. | 1 |
| 2 | Afflalo, Arron | It’s too bad Afflalos 31 point game ended up in an overtime loss, but it was reassuring knowing that the Knicks have some actual scorers around Melo for a change. | 3 |
| 3 | Anthony, Carmelo | A nice game against the Magic was followed up by a turd against the Heat and DNP-??? Against the Rockets. Not the best of weeks for our superstar. | 2 |
| 4 | Seraphin, Kevin | Two straight nice games for Seraphin. Is it a rule that that Knicks can’t have more than 1 or 2 bench guys playing well at one time? | 8 |
| 5 | Calderon, Jose | Calderon has looked much better since the beginning of the season, but 0 assists against the Heat in 25 minutes? Come on. Continue reading | |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 5
| 3 wins this week, bringing the win streak to 4 games! I’m of course pretending the Miami game didn’t happen. Those aren’t the Knicks I watched for the first 14 games of the season. Those were a bunch of jokers who didn’t play defense and couldn’t shoot. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Porzingis, Kristaps | It took a whole 5 weeks before our young, too skinny, multi-year project claimed the #1 spot. Zingis arguably outplayed our superstar Melo in 3 of the 4 games this week, including a 29 point game and a 7 block game (both tops among rookies this season). | 2 |
| 2 | Anthony, Carmelo | Melo has been alright this week. Not the untradable superstar I keep hearing about, but decent. His assists are back down, 5 over the course of the last 3 games, and his shot is still streaky. Basically classic Melo, very good but leaves you wanting more. | 1 |
| 3 | Afflalo, Arron | Afflalo is a legit starting SG, but not one of the best SG’s in the league. He is, however, probably the best SG the Knicks have had since Starks. That’s depressing. | 3 |
| 4 | Calderon, Jose | The Knicks go as Calderon goes. He played well in our 3 wins and bad in the 1 loss. | 5 |
| 5 | Galloway, Langston | For the first 3 weeks I thought we had a deep bench, now it looks like Galloway and whatever random guy ends up playing well for 1 night. Continue reading | |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 4
| Pretty decent week. The Knicks went 2-2, were .1 seconds away from beating the Hornets and were in control of the Cavs game until that terrible 4th quarter. Melo is finally playing well and Afflalo is back in the lineup. Fishers 11 man rotation makes these rankings pretty difficult. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Melo scored 25 or more in all 4 games, and is assisting more than our starting PG. That sounds impressive until you realize our starting PG is assisting at a rate of about 3.5 APG. | 3 |
| 2 | Porzingis, Kristaps | The shot is still not falling, which is frustrating, be he’s doing everything else right. 15 rebounds and an (almost) game winner against the Hornets, and his fouls are way down. I’ll take it. | 2 |
| 3 | Afflalo, Arron | A shooting guard who can kinda sorta shoot! He’s not going to single handedly take over games, but he’s looked good in his first week back and more importantly is taking Vujacics minutes. | 14 |
| 4 | Galloway, Langston | An off week for Galloway, but still our most consitent bench option. | 1 |
| 5 | Calderon, Jose | Maybe lowering Calderons minutes to around 22 per game was the secret. He’s hitting shots and every once in a while covering opposing players. Continue reading | |
Episode 314: Almost a Win
Marc and Jay talk about the last 4 games, but mostly the Toronto and Charlotte games, Afflalo coming back, Fishers rotations, comparing Porzingis to other rookies, and much more
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 3
| 1-2 this week. Not great, but at least we beat the Lakers. Barely. The Lakers are terrible and it would have been very depressing to lose to them. This weeks rankings are very difficult as there were no standouts. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Galloway, Langston | Galloway plays defense, rebounds well for a PG, and seems to have found a 3 point shot. It looks like his minutes are increasing while Vujacic and Calderons are decreasing. As it should be. | 2 |
| 2 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Back to back double-doubles? Yes please. When his shot starts falling he’s going to be a monster. | 6 |
| 3 | Anthony, Carmelo | Absolute trash shooting so far this season. Melo has shot above 40% once in 7 games. He shoots 20 shots again and half of them are bad looks. We’re not going to win many games if this keeps up. | 1 |
| 4 | Lopez, Robin | Lopez does a lot of things that don’t show up on the box score. He hasn’t blown anyone away, but he’s been solid. | 5 |
| 5 | Calderon, Jose | And this is the problem with a 10 player rotation where most guys are under performing. Calderon had one good game and made it almost impossible for me to justify putting anyone else above him. Continue reading | |
Episode 313: Flawed Backcourt
Marc and Jay talk about the last 3 games, top 5 ways to fix the Knicks, top 5 beards, man on the street, the beast report, and listener questions
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 2
| Considering the tough opening schedule, I’d say 2-2 is a nice start. The flaws in the roster are already becoming apparent. We mentioned the backcourt was a problem and oh boy is it. Jerian Grant leads the team in assists with 3.8. In case you are new to stats, that is not good. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | 1 good game and 3 shooting performances that would make Kobe cringe. If he wasn’t getting to the line and if he weren’t 2nd on the team in assists I’d already have lowered him in the rankings. | 1 |
| 2 | Galloway, Langston | I mentioned last week that Galloway was a keeper if he could find his shot. Well look who just went 9-12 from the 3 last week! | 5 |
| 3 | Grant, Jerian | He plays defense, hits some shots and has the two highest assist games of the season for the Knicks at 7 and 5. Kind of the opposite of our starting PG. | 4 |
| 4 | O’Quinn, Kyle | Tied for 8th on the team in minutes played but 2nd in rebounds. He’s a high energy guy like Acy was last year, only good. | 3 |
| 5 | Lopez, Robin | Solid defense, decent on offense, would like to see more rebounds though. Continue reading | |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 1
| Happy first day of the season day. As usual there are a lot of new faces this season (8), and this opening day roster only has 3 guys from last seasons opening day roster (probably a good thing). Since the Knicks haven’t played yet this is most likely going to be the most positive rankings you’ll see this season. This weeks rankings is based on the preseason, expectations for the regular season, and gut instinct. Lets get to it! | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | He’s the best player on the team and it’s not even close. Melo looks fully healthy and ready to post 20-25 points per game. His defense and shooting percentage are things to keep an eye on. | – |
| 2 | Lopez, Robin | A center! A real center that does centery things! We started last season with Dalembert who just got cut by Dallas for being fat. I’d say this is a huge upgrade. | – |
| 3 | O’Quinn, Kyle | Last year Acy had the #3 spot at one point. A high energy guy that can rebound. Kyle, please be better than Acy! | – |
| 4 | Grant, Jerian | Our backup point guard until Calderon gets injured or just turns into dust. Lots of potential for this guy. I’m getting hyped. | – |
| 5 | Galloway, Langston | Galloway is already a nice defender and rebounder. If he can work on his shot he’ll be a keeper. Continue reading | |
