| The first player rankings for the season. There are a lot of new faces. Again. Let’s see if we can sort this out. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Porzingis, Kristaps | The best player on the team by a mile. I’m not worried about his talent level, but health is definitely a concern. | – |
| 2 | Hardaway Jr., Tim | A guy the Knicks fanbase practically chased out with pitchforks is one of the best players on the team 2 short seasons later. Will he be grossly overpaid or just slightly overpaid? | – |
| 3 | Kanter, Enes | This list is already difficult to put together. Could #3 on this list really be someone who is an absolute liability on defense? At least he has elite level offense. The Knicks will definitely be looking to outscore teams this season. | – |
| 4 | Lee, Courtney | One of the few guys who can play defense on this team. Which means he’ll probably be traded by all star break. | – |
| 5 | Hernangomez, Willy | Hoping (B)Willing can make a mini-leap this season. The better he is the less we have to watch Noah drag his corpse up and down the court. | – Continue reading |

2016/17 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 17
| The Knicks might not be good at basketball, but they’re tops in the league in embarrassment. Since last week we had Oakley get arrested and banned and then unbanned after a meeting with Silver and Jordan. Oh and they played 3 games, losing 2 but somehow beating the Spurs to avoid their first 5 game home losing streak in franchise history. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Melo bounced back from his off week, even had a decent game against Kawhi. If Melo’s days are numbered, he’s making the most of it. | 2 |
| 2 | Porzingis, Kristaps | It looks like Porzingis is back. And a collective sigh of relief is heard from the entirety of Knicks Nation. | 5 |
| 3 | Lee, Courtney | I hear some people bash Lee. Not sure what that’s about. He’s doing what he’s done his whole career, and that’s not a bad thing. | 3 |
| 4 | Hernangomez, Willy | Was worried how Willy would look against starting lineups. The answer? Pretty pretty pretty good. Knicks are undefeated when Willy starts. | 1 |
| 5 | O’Quinn, Kyle | Really good week for KOQ. I’m pretty comfortable with a Willy/KOQ center rotation going forward. Continue reading | |
2016/17 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 16
| A 1-3 week after barely beating the worst team in the league. Half the team looks like they don’t even want to be playing basketball anymore and the trade rumors are getting louder. AKA a typical February at MSG. By the way it’s decision time. The Knicks are 2.5 games out of the playoffs with 4 teams to leapfrog, and also 2.5 games out of the 4th worst record and 4 teams to leapfrog. They either need to get their act together immediately or embrace the tank and lock down a top 5 pick. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Hernangomez, Willy | This one was easy. The only player on the team to look decent in every game AND to look like he’s putting in effort. It’s only a matter of time before he is starting over Noah. | 6 |
| 2 | Anthony, Carmelo | Not going to drop Melo too far even though he had a couple stinkers this week. At least not until we see if this is due to being distracted by trade rumors or if it’s something worse. | 1 |
| 3 | Lee, Courtney | Lee is still doing his thing. His +/- is a little disturbing, but it’s mostly due to the fact that the starting lineup almost always spots the other team 10 points right off the bat. | 2 |
| 4 | Jennings, Brandon | Jennings has the most Jennings stat line this week; 1-11 for 6 point, but 10 assists and 5 steals. Unlike Rose, Jennings puts in maximum effort every night. | 5 |
| 5 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis kind of stinks lately. Lingering injury or time to get on the ledge? Continue reading | |
2016/17 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 15
| The Knicks went 1-2 since last weeks rankings, although losing in 4OT felt like 2 losses. The offense has been there but the defense is still a huge problem. The Knicks have held exactly 1 team below 100 in January, and that was Philly whom they held to 98 in a loss. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | If this is indeed Melo’s last few weeks as a Knick he’s going out with a bang. A 30 and a 45 point game this week on efficient shooting might make a couple teams seriously consider making an offer. | 1 |
| 2 | Lee, Courtney | Great week for Courtney. Almost won the game a couple times against the Hawks. For those of you who wanted him to shoot more, he’s over 13 attempts per game this week and shooting at a super efficient clip. | 5 |
| 3 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis probably had his best week of 2017. Not saying much because he’s been downright bad or injured most of the time, but had to put him up here after that dunk on Dwight. | 9 |
| 4 | O’Quinn, Kyle | We have Noah, Plumlee, and Hernangomez on the team, yet the much smaller O’Quinn defends and blocks shots better than all those guys. | 7 |
| 5 | Jennings, Brandon | We got to see all 3 Jennings this week. The one that disappears, the one that scores like crazy, and the distributer that racks up more assists in one game than Rose in a week. Continue reading | |
2016/17 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 14
| The Knicks went 2-2 since the last rankings. If they keep up a pace like this it’ll be enough to just miss the playoffs while also ensuring we don’t get any of the 4 amazing PG’s in this years draft. Knicks! | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Melo continued his hot streak on offense this week. He’s been very good..on offense. Offensively Melo is really good. | 1 |
| 2 | Rose, Derrick | Rose is also really good on offense. Well not so much the passing aspect, but he can take it to the hole at an elite level. | 2 |
| 3 | Hernangomez, Willy | You might have noticed that I’ve been ignoring the word defense. Since the Knicks ignore it I figured I should too. Anyway (B)Willy lit it up the 2 games he got actual minutes. No reason Noah should be getting more minutes than (B)Willy at this point. | 9 |
| 4 | Holiday, Justin | Hi, my name is Justin Holiday. You might recognize me as the guy who digs the starting lineup out of a 10+ point defecit literally every single game. Might have something to do with that D word the guys in the top 2 spots hate so much. | 5 |
| 5 | Lee, Courtney | Lee got way too much flac for not taking the final shot against the Wizards. There was literally a guy standing right next to him on the court yelling and waiving his arms. You’d think that was another player too. | 7 |
| 6 | Baker, Ron | You might look at Bakers numbers and wonder why he is so high on the list. It’s not that he’s a great defender, but he does look like Gary Payton compared to Rose and Jennings. | 3 |
| 7 | O’Quinn, Kyle | O’Quinns minutes have been all over the place lately, but in his lone start of the week he was really good. | 8 |
| 8 | Jennings, Brandon | Jennings plays juuuust good enough to keep his spot in the rotation, but that’s just because the Knicks backcourt is a flaming dumpster fire. | 10 |
| 9 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis has looked pretty bad. He had a 1 rebound game this week. Playing injured or sophomore slump? | 11 |
| 10 | Kuzminskas, Mindaugas | Pretty bad week for Kuz, but I have a feeling he’ll bounce back. He looks pretty confident when he’s on the court. | 4 |
| 11 | Noah, Joakim | Hi, I’m Joakim. I’m hot garbage at everything except rebounding. I airball free throws. I also start over 2 guys playing way better than me. | 6 |
| 12 | Plumlee, Marshall | Given a few more minutes Marshall could end up being the 3rd center on this team who is better than Noah. | 13 |
| 13 | Thomas, Lance | Now that Lance has been out I realize just how little I miss him. | 12 |
| 14 | Vujacic, Sasha | It’s a good thing we have Sasha taking up space on the bench instead of taking a chance on guys like Chasson Randle. | 14 |
| 15 | Ndour, Maurice | Same comment as above but replace Sasha with Maurice. | 15 |
2016/17 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 13
| Yeah I know I know, I missed the first 12 weeks of the season. Better late than never. These rankings are based on the last week of games. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Slow start to the season, but Melo has been very solid the last 2 weeks. Of course Knicks being Knicks, Melo met with Phil today to discuss Melo’s future with the team. Stay tuned. | – |
| 2 | Rose, Derrick | Derrick Rose has proved this month that he can still drive. He can drive to the basket. He can drive around in Chicago while the Knicks have a game. Unparalleled when it comes to driving. | – |
| 3 | Baker, Ron | I’m not going to be unrealistic, Baker would probably barely play on any other team, but he’s been really solid for the Knicks. He’s turned 30 point blowouts into 10 point beatings a number of times already. | – |
| 4 | Kuzminskas, Mindaugas | Another pleasant surprise, Kuz has the ability to score from inside and out. Defense isn’t great, but it’s not like pretty much anyone on this team is great at that. | – |
| 5 | Holiday, Justin | If the Knicks decide to blow this team up I hope Holiday is one of the few pieces they pick out of the rubble. | – |
| 6 | Noah, Joakim | This week Noah has been rebounding like a guy who gets paid 18M a year. Now if he can re-learn to defend, shoot free throws, and stay on the court more than 20 minutes a game we might have something here. | – |
| 7 | Lee, Courtney | The Knicks can’t defend anyone. So when it was time for a starting lineup change the only starter who is good at defense got benched because Knicks. | – |
| 8 | O’Quinn, Kyle | The Knicks have been almost not losing lately and O’Quinn is often the reason for the Knicks almost not losing. | – |
| 9 | Hernangomez, Willy | Willy looked great the first 6 weeks of the season and now he can’t get any minutes. Considering Porzingis has been out this isn’t a good sign. | – |
| 10 | Jennings, Brandon | Hey it’s that guy who looks great once every 2 weeks and completely disappears the rest of the time! | – |
| 11 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Every night I pray to the basketball gods that KP’s achilles heals 100%. | – |
| 12 | Thomas, Lance | When I was thinking of all the possible injuries the Knicks will have this season, broken face wasn’t among them. | – |
| 13 | Plumlee, Marshall | Knicks are obeying league rules that state every team has to have a Plumlee or a Zeller. | – |
| 14 | Vujacic, Sasha | Sasha is so happy Ndour is on the team because now there is someone ranked below him. | – |
| 15 | Ndour, Maurice | Trying to end on a positive note. Ndour has been looking good in the d-league! | – |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 20
| The Knicks are back down to 14 as Jimmer ends his 10 day contract averaging 50 points per 36 minutes. It looks like the Knicks are going to use that final spot on Tony Wroten, who is coming off an injury and most likely won’t play the rest of the season, so that really helps our guard situation. Anyway, one win and two losses since last week, lets see if I can sort out this mess. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | This might have been Melos beat week of the season. I am a little disturbed Rambis finds it necessary to play Melo 40+ minutes on back to back nights. If he breaks Melo we might not win another game, and we’re on pace to win at least 2 more! | 2 |
| 2 | Afflalo, Arron | Afflalo had a really great week. Now that my expectations are up I’m fully expecting an absolutely terrible week coming up very soon. | 9 |
| 3 | Lopez, Robin | Lopez has been one of the only consistently positive things about this season. | 3 |
| 4 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis went from good against Portland to not so good against the Celtics, to injured for the Pistons game. Not one of his better weeks. He also ended his streak of eastern conference rookie of the month awards, losing out to Myles Turner. | 1 |
| 5 | O’Quinn, Kyle | Congrats to Kyle for being the least terrible guy on the Knicks bench! | 10 Continue reading |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 19
| Three games this week. We got to see a little of everything; the Knicks clicking and looking like a real team, and then 2 days later the Knicks looking like a team that’s given up. I’ll try not to make this too negative, but the Knicks have lost 14 of the last 17 games so there isn’t too much to be positive about. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Pretty good week for Porzingis, we saw some good shooting nights, some excellent blocks, and a classy response to a prom proposal. I like this guy more every day. | 3 |
| 2 | Anthony, Carmelo | I think it’s about time to start calling Melo our best PG. His shot is off again, and I’m really worried that Rambis is going to destry what’s left of Melo’s knees with all the minutes he’s been getting in meaningless blowout games. | 1 |
| 3 | Lopez, Robin | Robin is still looking for his offense, which is really great. He’s been better than people have been giving him credit for. | 2 |
| 4 | Galloway, Langston | Langston puts up decent numbers on the bench. Every time he starts he looks kind of overwhelmed and the Knicks get blown out. | 4 |
| 5 | Thomas, Lance | Quiet week for Lance. I miss December 2015 Lance. | 5 Continue reading |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 18
| I included the Wizards game in this weeks rankings since doing a rankings on 1 game would be dumb. So now we get to add two losses and a win to that Wizards game. The Knicks added Jimmer, which sadly enough is the only bright spot. The team looks demoralized and the playoffs look like a pipe dream. Here’s your damn rankings. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Anthony, Carmelo | Melo is looking really frustrated lately. You can imagine why. He’s playing really well lately, assisting at a career high rate and .1 rebounds away from a career high rebound rate, but most of the team, as usual, stinks. | 4 |
| 2 | Lopez, Robin | The last two games Robin has looked crazy good. It’s amazing what happens when you get your center involved on the offensive end, something Chandler never got to experience. | 1 |
| 3 | Porzingis, Kristaps | The shot is still up and down and now the rebounding has come down a bit, but Porzingis is clearly the 3rd best player on this team. | 2 |
| 4 | Galloway, Langston | I’m trying to forget about his zero point performance against the Raptors (1 of 3 Knicks guards to do that on the same night!). At least he can defend, something the rest of the backcourt can’t claim. | 5 |
| 5 | Thomas, Lance | Lance didn’t get zero points against the Raptors, but he did against the Nets on 0-5 shooting. That’s still good enough for a top 5 spot this week. That’s how bad this team has been. Continue reading | |
2015/16 Knicks Roster Power Rankings – Week 16
| The Knicks lost every game this week, no one is playing particularly well, and now coach Fisher has been fired. Greek Salad hasn’t been resigned yet so we’re back down to 14 players on the roster. | |||
| Rank | Player | Comments | Last weeks Rank |
| 1 | Lopez, Robin | Lopez started off the week with a great game agains the Celtics and a Monster game against the Pistons. He also played 30 minutes or more in every game this week. He didn’t do anything against the Nuggets, but no one strung together 4 good games this week and that 26 and 16 game against Detroit was most impressive. Good enough for Lopez first #1 ranking of the season. | 3 |
| 2 | Porzingis, Kristaps | Porzingis did the opposite of Lopez, played poorly against Boston and Detroit and then looked amazing against Memphis and Denver. Imagine one day all our guys played well at the same time? | 4 |
| 3 | Afflalo, Arron | This is representative of how bad the Knicks have been. Afflalo didn’t have a very good week and moved up 2 spots. | 5 |
| 4 | Anthony, Carmelo | Oh my lord did Melo shoot bad this week. He said it’s because his knee is hurting which is just great. Years 1 and 2 of his max contract have been disasters. Good thing Melo got to the line, rebounded, and passed to make up for his shooting, but now he’s starting to miss a bunch of games so I’m getting pretty nervos. | 1 |
| 5 | Galloway, Langston | Galloway had a nice showing against Detroit, but was absolute trash in the games he started this week. Continue reading | |
